The Online Auction is Open!
The garments featured here were created by Project Runway alumni and Washington University and Lindenwood University students for the Missouri Historical Society’s event Threads: History Never Looked So Haute, a celebration of fashion and history. The eight designers were inspired by pieces selected from MHS’s textile collection, which holds more than 18,000 artifacts dating from the late 18th century to today. The designers’ creations will be on display at the Missouri History Museum as part of the Threads exhibition for the next three months.
From 9pm on Saturday, April 13, to 5pm on Sunday, July 14, you can bid on your favorite piece during MHS’s online auction. Bids will start at $50 for student pieces and $75 for pieces from Project Runway alumni. The lucky winners of these designer garments will be able to take them home after the Threads exhibition closes on Sunday, July 14.
