Item Description
Built by John Brown and Co. of Clydbank, Scotland and launched in March of 1888, the steamer City of New York was designed to carry 500 first-class, 200 second-class and 1,000 steerage passengers. Operated by both the Inman Line and the American Line as well as chartered as an auxiliary cruiser by the U.S. Navy during the Spanish American War and as a troopship during World War I. 35 "L x 14"H x 5"W.
