Item Description
Henrietta, The Hooting Owl
Anne Hanley's goal as the artist and reason for selecting an owl was to project an air of accomplishment, intelligence, education, strength and humor. Children today always love to feel they are special and can accomplish anything. Education can open many doors and offer an abundance of opportunities. Girls and boys need to discover that they are equal in every way to the opportunities available to them. The owl is large, silly, bright-eyed bird, which always appears introspective and inquisitive. For Anne, the owl is a symbol for reaching higher goals, promoting intelligence, and perhaps not taking yourself too seriously.
