Glaucoma 360: The Catalyst For A Cure Dinner
On Thursday, January 31st at 6 PM Glaucoma Research Foundation will celebrate 35 years of fulfilling our mission: “To prevent vision loss from glaucoma by investing in innovative research, education, and support with the ultimate goal of finding a cure" at the 2013 Annual Benefit in the historic Palace Hotel in San Francisco. This popular annual benefit launches Glaucoma 360, an exciting three-day series of events.
Co-chairs of this year’s benefit are 2012 President's Award recipient Nobuko Saito Cleary and Gary Cleary, PharmD, PhD. Traditional highlights of the benefit program have been the presentation of Glaucoma Research Foundation’s most prestigious honor, The Catalyst Award.
This year, we are most honored to recognize San Francisco philanthropists Frank Stein and Paul S. May. In 2008, Frank and Paul established The Frank Stein and Paul S. May Grants for Innovative Glaucoma Research. This generous commitment allows us to fund three Shaffer Grants each year. Frank and Paul are dedicated to advancing glaucoma research and low vision services in the San Francisco community. Their leadership fosters the entrepreneurial spirit of scientific discovery.
The Annual Benefit on January 31st will be followed by the New Horizons Forum on February 1, and the 17th Annual Glaucoma Symposium CME for physicians on February 2. These signature events comprise Glaucoma 360, founded by Adrienne Graves, PhD and Andrew Iwach, MD, and sponsored by Glaucoma Research Foundation.
