TRANSITIONS II was created as part of Hidalgo's "BLACKOUT" exhibition, held at The Delaware Contemporary Museum of Art in April of 2019. This painting is especially important in the evolution of Hidalgos work and process as it exemplifies his expertise in working with several different medium. Encaustic wax, epoxy resin, crylic paint, molding paste, oil paint, steel and tar re all used to create segments of texture representing the phases we go through during a major change in our lives. The absence of color is meant to accentuate he great importance of the source of "light" during times of change.
