Item Description
The winning bidder and a guest will receive an unrivaled tasting experience on Schramsberg Vineyards’ Cave Tour. The 75-minute tour takes place on foot in the cool caves, so wear your comfortable shoes and bring a sweater. During the tour, a knowledgeable guide shares the rich history of Schramsberg and its 125-year-old caves, which were dug by Chinese laborers in the late 1800s and house as many as 2.7 million bottles.
You’ll learn the classic method of producing sparkling wine and end with a tasting of Schramsberg wines while hearing about the incredible role Schramsberg has played in world history.
Also included is a magnum of the 2017 vintage Blanc de Blancs. Blanc de Blancs was the first wine Schramsberg produced in 1965 and was America's first commercially produced Chardonnay-based brut sparkling wine.
The Schramsberg style of Blanc de Blancs is dry and crisp. With its vibrant, fruitful and focused nature, this sparkling wine will maintain its freshness, structure and refined finish for many years, even decades following its initial release.
