It’s happening … tomorrow! ⚓️🇺🇸Finally, welcome to our underway season! We are pleased to announce that USS Constitution is scheduled to go underway this Friday, May 17th, from Charlestown Navy Yard at 10:00 a.m.
The cruise will be viewable from the Boston Harborwalk, Castle Island, and Charlestown Navy Yard.
We will fire a 21-gun salute viewable from Fort Independence on Castle Island at approximately 11:30 a.m.
We will be open for tours from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on May 17th.

My grandfather was the cook on this ship and he started the first cooking school for the Navy in NY.😊

How do you prepare a 1900+ ton vessel for repairs? Check out the time-lapse to see the installation of USS Constitution‘s keel blocks and haul blocks in Dry Dock 1, Charlestown Navy Yard. The build-out of the blocks supported Constitution‘s keel and lower hull during a two-and-a-half-year restoration.
