Online Auction Open!
The online portion of Barefoot Ambassadors is now open. The auction will run from September 14, 2012 to February 19, 2013, with the live event taking place on November 10, 2012. Proceeds go to Samaritan's Feet International in order to support impoverished children here in the U.S. and around the world.
Carolina Panther, Starting Wide Receiver, Steve Smith has decided to use his bare feet to tell the story of impoverished children throughout the world and right here in the U.S. Steve has teamed with Samaritan’s Feet and Lifetouch Sports to help raise thousands of pairs of shoes.
On September 9th, when Steve Smith left his shoes on the field at Raymond James Stadium against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and walked across the field in his bare feet, he did something that had never been done before in professional sports history. Steve Smith will take off his shoes and socks after each game, encourage his teammates to do the same and leave the game worn shoes at midfield in a symbolic gesture. Steve, and eventually his peers, will walk barefoot down the corridor into the locker room.
This will happen each week for 16 weeks. And you have a chance to buy those game worn shoes that Steve and other NFL players have used on the football field. Please review the different shoes available for you to bid on and please be generous. For every $10.00 you donate, we can put a pair of shoes on the feet of impoverished children.
