Stillbrave 3rd Annual Rockin' Renegade Holiday Auction
Stillbrave Childhood Cancer Foundation is committed to providing non-medical supportive care to children with cancer and their families.
Starting on December 1, 2016, Stillbrave will be auctioning off a number of fun and unique items to raise money for our BRAND NEW Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Program at INOVA Children's Hospital.
INOVA Children’s Hospital routinely cares for adolescents, teens and young adults who have been diagnosed with cancer. These patients have social and emotional needs that are very different from their younger counterparts. Adolescents and young adults are facing a cancer diagnosis during a time when there is already so much change happening physically, socially and emotionally. They need time and space with their peers, perhaps away from their parents, and out of their hospital room yet still within the safety of the hospital walls.
A Child Life Assistant will plan, implement and facilitate teen-specific psychosocial programming. Weekly activities will include, but are not limited to: movie nights, “teen talk” parties and scrapbook sessions as well as additional services that might include a hair stylist, manicurist, tai chi or yoga instructor and musicians.
Before Stillbrave, there was NO AYA program. Please help us fund this most important program so that there will ALWAYS be one.
