Item Description
Artist Bill McMullen is“renowned for his witty, pointed combination of high art presentation, graphic design immediacy, and street art’s confrontational boldness.”* He has shown in LA, San Diego, and New York.
Formerly in music, Bill has created packaging for Def Jam artists like DMX and Foxy Brown, as well as a number of projects for Beastie Boys. He has done graphics for many downtown streetwear brands like Swish and Opening Ceremony, limited edition toy designs, Adidas artist collaborations, and packaging for Criterion Collection, as well as Oscilloscope.
He has lived in New York since 1996 and his love for this city runs deep.
For this projects Bill was inspired by the backdrop of New York City that inspires Hunter Elementary students and cultivates and celebrates diversity. Through this project “Under One Roof” we hope to bring togetherness, which has become more poignant during this pandemic.
Bill has created a cityscape of buildings reminiscent of the architecture found in NYC and that surrounds the school. Each window cut-out will be filled with aportrait painted by each student.
Dimensions:
Cityscape building dimensions vary, approximately 40”x60” in total.
Materials: Wood and acrylic. Student contributions will be a variety of mediums based on what they choose to use for their portraits.
