Item Description
Featuring fishing scenes along the Nile, this table runner sends you back to ancient Egypt. This beautiful piece of history, measuring 17.5 in x 45 in (44.5 cm x 114 cm), will add flair to any room.
This piece was made in the traditional tentmakers, or khayyamiya, style. Khayyamiya, derived from the Arabic word for tent, is a technique that is popular amoung tentmakers in bazaars. The technique involves overlaying sailcloth with embroidery and colorful designs. While these designs were originally geared towards tents and pavillions, they are used today to make decorative indoor pieces as well!
