Item Description
Alluvial Peace - by artsist Allyson Hardy
This original art piece is acrylic on linen, beautifully displayed in a Lucite shadow box. It measures 6" x 6". The Landscape is a classic, yet modern reminder of our Mississippi home. Gold leaf accents represent the sun shining on Delta rows.
About the artist:
"From the time I was a young child, I loved drawing and creating. My mother dabbled in art, and had a beautifully decorated house and a green thumb. Because of her I was encouraged to observe my surroundings and appreciate the detail and beauty of it all. I took art lessons as a child and was fortunate enough to be in my school's gifted art program. When it came time to choose a major at Delta State in 1990, pursuing a Bachelor of fine Arts degree was a natural choice for me. After graduating, I went back to school so I could become certified to teach both Art and Gifted K-12. Before having children, I taught art in the Memphis area. I took about 9 years off while my children were young. During that time I enjoyed Interior Design, photography, and many other creative outlets. I always came back to my first love, painting. It wasn't until I moved back to Cleveland, and took a job as a Gifted Teacher at Hayes Cooper Center, that I began painting on a very regular basis on the weekends and summers. I have been back in Cleveland now, for 10 years. Over these last 10 years, I can now say that I have finally found my painting style."
