Item Description
Whirligig made of mixed media (painted metal and wood) construction by R. A. Miller. He was from Rabbittown, an unincorporated Georgia community. Reuben Aaron Miller (July 22, 1912 Â March 7, 2006) was a self-taught folk artist, best known for his whirligigs, metal cutouts and drawings. This cutout tin dinosaur sits opposite of two round red tin blades, one of which is signed 'RA Miller'.
Item Special Note
Miller's work has been included in such exhibitions as Outside the Mainstream: Folk Art in Our Time at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta (1988) and Passionate Visions of the American South at the New Orleans Museum of Art in Louisiana (October 1993-January 1994).
