Now is your chance to not only get all the great items you want, but to do it knowing you are helping support our organization and mission.

The Vision Source Foundation evolved out of a response to the needs of our members following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, as well as the multiple storms that hit Florida that hurricane season.

The Foundations charter allows for contributions received by the Foundation to be disbursed, as determined by the Board of Directors, to optometrists and their family members who have been impacted by catastrophic events such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and wildfires or from health-related events such as death, cancer, and stroke.

All optometrists who are duly licensed by their respective state agency qualify for grants by the Foundation and such optometrists need not have a direct or indirect affiliation with Vision Source. Since its founding, the Vision Source Foundation has distributed more than $1 Million to optometrists and their families impacted by catastrophic events.

The Foundation may also provide grants to optometry schools to further their education of optometry students provided that the particular grant request is a tax-exempt institution or organization. The types of grant requests that might be considered from optometry schools could be for building expansions, professorships, and scholarships.

It is not a matter of if, but when a tragedy or disaster will occur. Vision Source now has a plan that can be put in motion promptly to collect and disburse funds to help those in need.
