Item Description
These authentic Japanese men's and woman's dress kimonos were presented to C. Mark Smith and his wife, Elsa, in 1995 by visiting representatives of Birmingham, Alabama's Japanese sister city Hitachi. Members of the delegation took great delight in dressing the Smith's in the authentic costumes in order to show to their friends back in Japan!
Each ensemble consists of a kimono, flat obi (men's) or pre-tied obi belt (women's), geta (zori) sandals, and masks.
