Item Description
Designed to jolt you awake and break your habit of sleepwalking through life, the Four Reminders reveal the urgency of spiritual awakening and living with purpose, here and now. Twelve years in the making, The Four Reminders: A Simple Buddhist Guide to Living and Dying Without Regret by Dennis Hunter puts a fresh, contemporary spin on a very ancient, traditional set of contemplations from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
Unlike many titles in its category, this book is written to make sense to anyone, regardless of background or beliefs or familiarity with the ideas explored in the book. Actually, one of the things that guided its writing was a statement commonly attributed to Einstein: "You don't really understand something unless you can explain it to your grandmother." This book will provide inspiration and clarity for the reader's own journey of awakening.
Dennis Hunter was born in 1969 to American parents living in West Germany, grew up in Oklahoma, and as an adult lived in New York City for approximately 25 years. Formerly a Buddhist monk at Pema Chödrön's monastery, he teaches and writes on meditation and spirituality.
