Founded in 1975, Lillstreet Art Center is a large community of artists and students working side-by-side in a friendly environment which encourages and inspires artistic growth in the individual. Lillstreet Art Center supports the arts through our education program, artist residencies, gallery exhibitions and retail sales opportunities, studio rentals, and arts-based professional development. Lillstreet is also the home to ArtReach, our sister organization providing arts education to under served communities in Chicago.

In 2003, we relocated from a converted horse barn on Lill Avenue in Lincoln Park to a former gear factory on Ravenswood. Our new facility is a beautiful, spacious arts center boasting state-of-the-art equipment and expanded course offerings in over 20 classrooms. Lillstreet Loft at 4437 North Ravenswood Avenue offers a 2,000 square foot space for professional development, meeting spaces, private events, and parties. The Drawing Workshop at 4410 North Ravenswood Avenue is the most recent addition to Lillstreet, and we are excited to offer painting & drawing classes in the classical tradition in this incredible studio. First Slice, a non-profit committed to providing healthy food to the homeless and needy, has been providing a variety of sweet and savory food options for the last seven years and is open to students and the community at large.

We offer adult classes & workshops for beginning to advanced students in seven different departments: ceramics,metalsmithing & jewelery, painting & drawing, printmaking, textiles, glass, and digital arts & photography. Each department offers First-Time Artist classes that help beginners to explore a new medium in a relaxed environment. Our Kidstreet program has classes, camps, and family workshops for children age 2 and up.

Our outstanding faculty brings a diverse collection of skills and experience to the classroom. Each faculty member will work closely with you in your class and offer instruction to the class and to the individual student.

We host private events throughout the year, and we are happy to help you schedule any kind of party from birthday to bachelorette, group outings, professional team building, fundraising benefits, or any other private event at Lillstreet or Lillstreet Loft.
