Item Description
Drawing Encaustic - 15" x 25"
From the artist: Encaustic is a 3000 year old method using a thin coat of wax mixed with oil paints and chemicals. The heated wax will preserve the art indefinitely. I used a less toxic method by drawing, painting and collaging the image on paper, then spreading heated bee's wax on the drawing. In fact the bee's wax I used came from Vermont honey bees. It needs no glass, just a light buff from a clean cloth. It is framed.
This is one of a series of Barn Owls I did when I spent one summer in Vermont.
Item Special Note
