In March 1977, a group of passionate advocates came together to establish NSW’s first Community Legal Centre. Forty years on, Redfern Legal Centre remains one of Australia’s most respected providers of free legal services, offering urgent assistance to communities in need and working for social and legal change to enhance respect for human rights. Now we need your help!

On Thursday, 27 April, you’re invited to help us celebrate forty years of social justice!  We’ll be hosting a fabulous fundraising dinner, at Sydney Town Hall, and auctioning off great prizes to support our work.

Proceeds from the dinner and auction will be used to support RLC's efforts to provide access to social justice for Sydney's most vulnerable communities, so we're asking for your help. Show your support by expressing your interest in becoming a sponsor, buying a ticket, donating an item to the auction or any combination of the above.

Our 40th birthday will be an event like no other!

Prepare to kick up your heels with MCs Wendy Harmer, Triple J’s Veronica and Lewis, and live karaoke with motown & funk by the Pragmatics. Groove to your favourite tunes from the ‘60s ‘70s and ‘80s – or put in a bid to sing live with the band (or counter bid to stop someone from singing)!

We’ll be toasting RLC’s many achievements, including memories from our special guest speaker and much-loved RLC alumni, Justice Virginia Bell AC. Justice Bell was one of RLC’s earliest volunteers, so we know she’ll have great stories to share.

Our live auction features many wonderful prizes including unique items donated by our friends and local businesses. Check back closer to the event date to preview auction items on the site.
