KCNQ2 Cure Alliance's 1st annual Cocktails for a CURE - Saturday, May 6
KCNQ2 Cure Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising research funds for KCNQ2 epileptic encephalopathy, a rare and catastrophic form of epilepsy beginning in the first days of life. By offering research grants for KCNQ2 research with a novel approach, we can move researchers and the medical community forward to find better treatments and a cure while assisting afflicted individuals and their families.
We are partnering with Boston’s Children’s Hospital and neurologist form Children's Hospital of Colorado in a joint international venture to support a natural history study (NHS). Over the course of several years a NHS will collect health information in order to understand how KCNQ2 develops and how to treat and possibly find a cure. This a required step which will help pharmaceutical companies to develop compounds to help those with KCNQ2 epilepsy.
The Cocktail's for a CURE committee has gathered a wide array of amazing silent auction items including kids classes & camps, event tickets, weekend get-aways, restaurant gift certificates, art, spa/beauty and other special items you will love!
Online bidding opens March 1 and closes March 6 at 10:00am before the event.
If you can't make it to the big event, you can bid online from where ever you are starting March 1 and still support KCNQ2! The bidding closes for all items before the event on March 6 at 4:00pm. You will need to register at Bidding for Good and can even place maximum bids. Bidding for Good notifies you if you have been outbid, etc.
And please refer your friends and family to bid on our auction items! A great thing about our Bidding for Good site is that friends and family can support KCNQ2 CURE by bidding for items in the auction and not be at the event. If they have the winning bid, they can pick it up at a specific Stapleton locate, or we can ship the item to them (plus shipping costs). A perfect date night or Girls/Guys Night Out! Come join us and support those with KCNQ2 epilepsy! Invite your friends, family, and neighbors to this awesome “adults only” event! Tickets are $45 per person or $90 for two for pre-paid tickets or $50 each at the door.
Help us raise money to fund a natural history study for those with KCNQ2 epilepsy while having a great time!
