The online portion of 2017 Rising Stars Youth Leadership Scholarship & Gala Silent Auction is now open! The auction will run from April 15, 2017 to June 9, 2017, with the live event taking place the evening of June 9, 2017 in Berkeley California. Proceeds go to Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS) and support our Rising Stars Youth Leadership Program that honors and supports Alameda County Youth who, against the odds, are succeeding in school and supporting their family and community. Auction items range from family fun packages, dinner events, and vacation getaways.

The mission of BOSS is to help homeless, poor, and disabled people achieve health and self-sufficiency, and to fight against the root causes of poverty and homelessness.
The BOSS Rising Stars Youth Leadership Program provides support and recognition to young people who are experiencing serious life challenges – poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, criminal justice, substance abuse and more – and they are dealing with it all with strength, courage, grace, and hope. They are staying in school, taking care of their families, striving toward college – some of them are working, others are helping out in their community. They are not letting the cards they have been dealt keep them from reaching for their dreams.
