The auction will run from May 29, 2019 to June 20, 2019, with proceeds going to Furnishing Hope of Massachusetts, Inc. to help make posssible their work supporting families transitioning from homeless and domestic violence shelters into stable housing by providing them with the furniture and home goods needed to build a home.

Furnishing Hope of Massachusetts, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit which provides furniture, home goods, moving and set up services to families transitioning from homeless and domestic violence shelters into stable housing. Since beginning our work 6 years ago we’ve helped hundreds of Boston area families create homes for themselves. Your bid for Red Sox tickets will help us continue to help families like these in your community!
Wood and iron are the symbolic sixth wedding anniversary gifts, because they embody strength and durability. Those gifts and their meaning also perfectly symbolize Furnishing Hope’s work. Not only do wood and iron represent core materials that furniture is made from, but the furniture and home goods we provide to families are meant to strengthen and add resilience as those families work to rebuild their lives after experiencing homelessness.
Why is Furnishing Hope’s work so important?
Over a third of Boston area families who transition to permanent housing from homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters are still sleeping on the floor, don’t have a table to eat at, don’t have lamps to read by, months or even over a year after moving into permanent housing. These conditions are particularly hard on children who have already gone through extreme periods of instability and stress. Furnishing Hope, together with a network of community partners, is helping to give these families a better chance as they work to rebuild their lives, with greater comfort and dignity. While most of the furniture and home goods we provide to families is donated, we have expenses we have to fundraise for, particularly for moving and storage costs. Your winning bid will make a huge difference for us, and get you a fun Red Sox outing in the process! A win-win all round!
