Ready, Set, Read! promotes early childhood literacy development by training parents to read aloud to their young children.

This year, Ready, Set, Read! is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Established in 1999 as a project of Community Partners, a 501(c)(3), Ready, Set, Read! aims to promote early childhood literacy development by training parents to read aloud to their children.

We conduct both one-time and multi-part workshops in Los Angeles for low-income parents in English and Spanish and provide books to our families. We also provide classroom lending libraries to a select number of schools each year. 

Since our inception, over 50,000 parents have participated in one of our workshops at over 225 school sites.  In addition, we have provided 40,000 books to 400 classroom lending libraries.
