LA Marriott Business Council is getting ready to run an online auction fundraiser.
On Friday, October 22, 2021, the Los Angeles Marriott Business Council will take part in this year's virtual Children's Miracle Network Torch Relay Coast-to-Coast Challenge which will raise money to benefit the local children served by Children's Miracle Network and Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
This multi-day experience allows participants to walk, run, or bike and will begin on Friday, October 22nd, and continue through the evening of Saturday, November 13th. The opening ceremony will be broadcast live from Orlando, FL, and will feature a DJ, an official torch lighting, and some special surprises. There will also be live feeds hosted throughout the 4-day event featuring hospitals and participants across the country!
The Torch Relay began in 2002 as a continuous relay starting in Miami, Florida and ending in Orlando, Florida. In 2003, the event was expanded to include northern Florida and Georgia. The first coast-to-coast Relay was held in 2005 and has continued to grow every year since. From the simple beginnings of the event, The Torch Relay for CMN Hospitals has raised over $15.1 million dollars for children's hospitals nationwide.
The Torch Relay for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. The Torch Relay is an all-volunteer organization and participant funds benefit the local CMN Hospital in the city where they were raised.
