A Path to Success will be auctioning off Unique Travel Experiences to bid on and raise money for our Fostered Youth!

Why Family Rescue Shelter feels focusing on foster youths is the best avenue for success, there are more than 424,000 foster youths nationwide, roughly 20,000 youths are forced to exit the system regardless of finding that forever family. Ohio alone has 16,000 youths statewide, being moved constantly not only from house holds that don't fit, but separated from schools and friends. Common Core in 2016 cost the nation nearly 80 billion dollars, and in 2019, 10.5 million children lived in poverty in the U.S.

National Studies have shown that within two to four years after leaving the foster care system at age 18, 40% became homeless, 40% were receiving government assistance or incarcerated, 40% experienced drug and alcohol abuse, 46% had not completed high school, 51% were unemployed, and 84% became parents.

Family Rescue Shelter believes that math can be integrated into history, science, english subjects, and vocational learning like the example below;

Introducing the purpose of construction allows students to learn how to prepare budgets, understanding measurements, estimating cost and profits, geometry, calculus and statistics, and trigonometry.  Interior design can explain geometry, ratios and percentages, calculus and statistics. Shopping at your local grocery store and calculating 50% off, estimating the quantity purchased, the weight per unit, the total price, rounding off numbers to estimate final cost we have just presented ratio and percentage and algebra.

There is growing evidence that "both cognitive and non-cognitive abilities determine social and economic success" for young people and adults. As a result, comprehensive training programs that combine in-class employ-ability and life skills lessons with hands-on practical experience "have higher rates of success, with success defined as improving the probability of obtaining employment and/or higher earnings."

People generally remember, 10% of what they READ, 20% of what they HEAR, 30% of what they SEE, 50% of what they HEAR and SEE, 70% of what they SAY and 90% of what they SAY as they DO a thing. So there is no doubt that technical devices have greater impact and dynamic informative system.

From this finding it might be concluded that this could be one of the reasons why such resources might not be used in high schools. Further the research has shown that high schools lacked adequate funding to purchase teaching/learning resources

Overall, it's important that students remain truthful with themselves, so that youths can work towards a career that youths are passionate about. Being self-aware will also make youths a better learner not just in high school, but throughout their life. Youths will be capable of responding to criticism better, growing and improving your strengths and weaknesses that youths have already assessed.

Family Rescue Shelter would like your support, as everyone would benefit in many ways. Please recognize not only foster youths, but a future program for the benefit of all youths. Be a part of our cause and contribute time or money to make this a reality, and leave a mark in life, donate today and make a difference.
