This years proceeds will go to the Top of Michigan Trails Council; towards the purchase of a building, located on the trail, which will become the ultimate trailhead. It will also act as a trails chamber of commerce, where trail users can learn about local trails, proposed trails, procure maps, obtain water for waterbottles, attend lawn events and to rest on their lawn, etc.
Top of Michigan Trails Council's Mission
We advocate and facilitate the development of a network of multipurpose recreational trails in northern Lower Michigan. Currently there are 288 miles of trail in our inventory of which 109 are classified as "improved."
Since these trails go from Petoskey to Charlevoix; Petoskey to Harbor Springs; Petoskey to Alanson, with future trails from Charlevoix to Boyne City; Cherlevoix to Traverse City and Alanson to Mackinac City, these trails will bring business and revenue to these many towns.
