Item Description
"Grace Meets Gravity" by Joseph Titus Davis
Joseph Titus has dedicated the last 5 years to the practice of Professional Body Art. Combining his love for painting and storytelling he has developed his own voice and style within this art form. Though he has always been inspired by all facets of art, he is connected to what allowed him to use his hands such as painting and sculpture. “I’ve been painting since I was old enough to hold a paint brush. So being able to take that from witch is most common for canvas, and still tell an intricate story on someone who is breathing is most rewarding.”
Titus has had the pleasure of training and painting alongside some of the best Atlanta has to offer when it comes to body paint. Stephanie Anderson, owner of “Neon Armour”, who was one of the first to give him a chance in the professional world of body art. By teaming with LED Experience Design a local all-immersive entertainment company they brought fantasy, and pure artistry to clients like Ponce City Market, creating The Grinch, and SCAD, being the entertainment for graduation. Titus also received training from Gwynnis Mosby Makeup Academy’s very own Roberto Hernandez. Owner of “Roberto’s Artwork LLC”. They teamed up for High Rez Studios presents SMITE World Championship 2014-2017 creating over 30 Cos Plays Characters as well as HD Beauty makeup on the commentators and hosts for the world wide broadcast of the tournament.
Throughout Titus’ career, he has worked with multiple High Profile and Celebrity clients. He has had the honor of competing in multiple body art competitions that include; “PMAC,” being his very first Body Paint Competition he placed 2nd two years in a rowe. Then later competed in “Battle of the Bodies”, receiving 2nd place winner. Dragon Con’s Battle of the Comics receiving 3rd, and lastly Paint Nik. Titus also assisted Stephanie Anderson at the El Chelko Foundation, North American Body Paint Competition “Living Art America”.
“ The truest expression of self is being able use my experiences as tool of healing when painting. No judgment resides in this expression because of how personal it becomes. I am able to grow and even connect to others who may feel the same, or have a hard time moving through their own emotional feelings”.
