Mark Genovese is an engineer who blends his technical experience with equipment of his own design into his photos. His works are characterized as an exploration of the familiar, presented with a blend of visual and practical effects. Mark's work has been published, displayed in galleries and juried exhibitions.

The graffiti covered walls of Fort Revere in Hull, MA provide a unique background for Heart Afire. To achieve these effects, Mark Genovese constructed a microcontroller operated UV light bar and a 300 volt red electroluminescent wire bundle.  These custom light sources were used to light paint the scene.
