Item Description

Timmy Patterson can be found in the shaping bay seven days a week. His passion and devotion for the craft are fueled by an upbringing (his first memories beginning at 3 years old) of being surrounded by surfboard builders.

Timmy Patterson started his shaping career with fixing up ding repairs for friends and then found his way to Hobie Surfboards. This is where he worked alongside his two uncles and father, it’s where he learned how to sand, hot coat, and make fins. He pretty much did everything there - even fixed the machines and fans. (He still maintains his own machines and makes his own tools to this day). He was there for six years and then began working in his own garage with his friends - borrowing planers to shape surfboards, bellyboards, and handboards. Anything that could ride waves.

Eventually, he became more well-known in the little surf town and was asked by Herbie Fletcher and McElroy to help shape surfboards under them for local talents such as Matt Archbold, Dino Andino, and Christian Fletcher. These collaborations had a major influence on his career. Around the 90s is when he started to travel around the world, sharing his shaping techniques and riding waves with different people.

Timmy Patterson’s consistent sense of creativity, innovation, and determination push the craft forward. His willingness to work overnight, from start to finish on a surfboard, sets him apart from the rest.
