Special Guests

DAVID MIHALIC
Former Superintendent, Yosemite National Park
As a young man, David Mihalic learned about Hetch Hetchy’s
destruction as a reason not to allow proposed dams to flood
Yellowstone and Grand Canyon National Parks.
After a distinguished career in the National Park Service
and as Special Advisor to the Secretary of Interior,
Dave’s commitment to restoration has only increased.
Dave doesn’t believe we need to live with this century old mistake.
He is committed to restoring this national treasure.

MIA MONROE
Marin Community Liaison, Muir Woods National Monument
As a youth often in the High Sierra, and as a park ranger
at Muir Woods extolling the value of life lived mostly in nature
entwined with activism, Mia Monroe has long walked under
the influence of John Muir! Today she is charged with
engaging local interests to restore health to the Redwood
Creek Watershed while still welcoming the public.
As a volunteer, Mia works for monarch butterfly conservation.
She looks forward to the lush milkweed meadow habitat
that a restored Hetch Hetchy Valley will provide.
