22nd Annual Cuisine for Art Fundraiser

Join us for the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood’s 22nd Annual Cuisine for Art fundraiser, which will take place at the Event Center at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.

This year’s honoree is South Florida based Pulitzer Prize winning humorist and writer Dave Barry.

This fundraiser features elected officials and community leaders serving as Celebrity Waiters during an exciting and entertaining evening. Guests enjoy complimentary wine, beer, bourbon and vodka cocktails, 
a three-course dinner, live entertainment, 
and an awards presentation.

Honoree Dave Barry
Dave Barry is an award-winning author and humor columnist. For many years, he wrote a syndicated newspaper column that appeared in more than 500 newspapers in the US and abroad. In 1988, Barry won the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary while at The Miami Herald. One of Barry’s columns was largely responsible for the movement to observe International Talk Like a Pirate Day every year on September 19.

Barry has written more than 30 books, including the novels Big Trouble, Lunatics, Tricky Business and, most recently, Insane City. He has also written a number of non-fiction books such as I’ll Mature When I’m Dead and Best. State. Ever.: A Florida Man Defends His Homeland. His books have frequently appeared on the New York Times Best Seller List. Two of Barry’s books were the basis for the CBS sitcom Dave’s Worldwhich aired from 1993 to 1997.

Barry lives in Miami with his family and their dog.
