There is no better place to learn to surf than with Surf Camp at Scarborough Beach! Our Surf Camp is the original New England Surf Camp and has taught more than 2,000 kids and adults how to enjoy one of the oldest sports in the world.

The high bidder will receive a gift certificate for one week's tuition for day camp at Surf Camp Maine. Day camp is for kids aged 9 to 15 and runs Monday through Friday, 9AM to 3PM. Campers spend two full 2-hour surf sessions in the water each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

At Surf Camp our two most important goals are FUN and SAFETY! We maintain a student to instructor ratio of 4:1, and all of our camp counselors are experienced surfers who are additionally certified in Life Saving, First-Aid, and CPR.

We teach our campers to surf on high-quality BIC surfboards with safe and flexible Proteck fins. This board and fin combination provides an easy, fun, and safe introduction to surfing. Our wetsuits are full suits and we introduce new suits every year; either way, they'll keep you warm even on the coldest Maine days. We have surfboards and wetsuits to fit all sizes!

Surfing hardly ever gets dull since everything is always changing: the tides, the waves, good rides, and wipeouts. But if someone's interest wanders, we can guarantee that they will not! A day at the beach is fun no matter what, and Surf Camp offers a range of other fun beach activities including body boarding, nature hikes, snorkeling, volleyball, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, water games, and the occasional sand castle contest! Last year we even invented a Tow Surf Challenge!

Sometimes we have bad weather and we can't stay at the beach. On those rare occasions we take a field trip to visit local surf shops, and if the weather is really bad we stop by Surf Camp HQ, just up the road from the beach. But we guarantee no one will be bored! It's a nice break to relax, shop in the Surf Camp Shop, watch surf videos, or play Ping-Pong or Xbox. We always find a way to have fun!

Item Special Note

This Surf Camp Tuition Gift Certificate covers all regular activities, including field trips, surfboard and wetsuit use, beach admission, drinks and snacks. Surf Camp does not provide lunch. There is a snack bar at Scarborough Beach and children may bring spending money for use at the snack bar or for spending when on a field trip.
