Fund a Need-Case of Cat Food for a Guardian Angel Home Melrose Humane Society has some dedicated volunteers who take in what we call "Guardian Angel" cats, a kinder name for those cats that are unadoptable for a variety of reasons. Since we are a no kill rescue group with no physical shelter, some of our volunteers take our unadoptable cats into their own homes. It's here that the Guardian Angel cat lives out the remainder of its life in the safety of one of our long term foster homes. It could be months but in many cases, its several years, Most of the volunteers take these cats in at their own expense. A $ 20 donation buys a case of canned food.

This is Benji an FIV+ cat. Fiv (feline immunodeficiency virus) is like AIDS in humans only this is the cat version. It is not passed to people. It is only spread between cats when they fight and cause deep bite wounds....all MHS cats are neutered, so there is no need for fighting like males do when they compete for females.
