Description

This vivid, abstract print by Victor Vasarely is screened on Fabriano wove paper. It measures 26 1/2" x 26 1/2," and was printed by Domberger Stuttgart and published by EuroArt. The publisher's and printer's blind stamps are both present. The print is number 4741 from an edition of 5000. A label on the back of the sheet (in German) provides details about the production of the print. The identifying "Vasarely" inscription on the front, lower margin is not the artist's signature.  The print is unmatted and unframed.

This is an original silk screen print by an artist widely regarded as the "father of op art," a major figure in 20th century art. His prints and paintings are in collections and museums throughout the world.

[This print is part of a collection of prints from a gallery in New York that was going out of business. The gallery owner’s son donated these prints to Congregation Ahavath Shalom (CAS).]

While this print was evaluated as an original print, CAS makes no warranties or representation of any kind or nature with respect to the authenticity of this print. All works of art are being auctioned and sold by CAS on an “as is” basis.
