In 2007, after an illustrious career in the culinary world with the creation of several successful restaurants following his graduation from Cornell’s prestigious Hotel School, Mike Simms (along with his brother Chris) decided Manhattan Beach needed a neighborhood spot where they could experience a simple, delicious burger and some quality craft beer and wine.  In 2009, Simmzy’s was born.  After carefully growing the concept in strategically chosen neighborhoods in Southern California, he chose Pacific City.  Situated in a front-and-center location adjacent to the main Event’s Plaza with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the iconic HB pier, Simmzy’s offers the most mouthwatering and innovative burgers, billing themselves, quite appropriately, as a local pub featuring artisan foods, craft beers and small production wines.  This is neighborhood fare at its best, with a surfer’s sensibility and a great time and atmosphere at the heart of a place you’ll want to come back to again and again.  “Meet me at Simmzy’s” will no doubt soon become a familiar and often repeated statement in your personal vocabulary!

Tin Roof Bistro

The Tin Roof Bistro embodies my vision of a wine country local’s hangout – casual, fun atmosphere combined with chef inspired cuisine and professional, detail oriented service. This great combination allows our guests to feel comfortable showing up in blue jeans and a T-Shirt on their way back from the beach or a suit and tie on their way home from work.

Casual Atmosphere - After soaking in the TRB’s Santa Barbara mission architecture, you’ll enter and be greeted by a triple arched Brunswick mahogany bar. Large bowls of colorful citrus for making cocktails sit atop a twenty-foot long bar perfect for grabbing a glass of wine or a bite to eat. As you explore further towards the display kitchen, you enter our lounge, also referred to as the wine library. Knotted wood shelves display our wines, divided up by wine region. Windows surround the North side of the dining room, allowing our guests to gaze out onto the fountain in our courtyard. I describe the décor as thoughtful and collective, creating little vignettes for dining areas. We offer two separate outdoor dining experiences: our courtyard with full service and our front porch great for appetizers, drinks and a game of cornhole.

Fishing with Dynamite

Fishing with Dynamite - already named Best Oyster Bar by Los Angeles Magazine - Chef David LeFevre celebrates summers spent on Virginia's Eastern Shore and SoCal's vibrant beach communities with a menu that features only the most pristine seafood. Like M.B. Post, Fishing with Dynamite is a reflection of LeFevre's roots, his travels and his three culinary touchstones - preparing food that is artisanal, soulful and handcrafted.

FwD is open daily for lunch and dinner. The restaurant seats approximately thirty-five guests. The dining room is comprised of a combination of tables, raw bar, and a cocktail bar.
