You are bidding on a mixed media on canvas by Artist Rhenda Saporito. It measures 13"x 16" in a floater frame with the painting measuring 11"x 14". This mixed media piece uses graphite, collage and acrylic paint.
Artist Rhenda Saporito was inspired after a 2010 New Orleans exhibit (at NOMA, The CAC and Newcomb) by Joan Mitchell to begin her own work. Rhenda C. Saporito has lived more than half her life in New Orleans, and studied color theory, abstract painting, life drawing and sculpture at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts. Her studies have concentrated on abstract expressionist artist including Diebenkorn, DeKooning, Rauschenberg and Joan Mitchell. She has participated in workshops with several internationally known artists. The intuitive application of mixed media on canvas and paper is her primary focus. Many times a painting takes its own turn into chaos and she must paint out of the chaos. Rhenda lives and works in Metairie, Louisiana, and Pass Christian, Mississippi.
