Description

Colorful handcrafted garlic keeper and grater plate are truly usable art.  Donated by local artist Scot Patterson who makes highfire stoneware pottery in many shapes and sizes. All his pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe.  His shop is located in Aaronsburg, but he also participates in local festivals and has work available at the Green Drake in Milheim.  See more of his work on his website: www.aaronsburgpottery.com

The garlic keeper is approximately 5 1/2" in height.  Instructions for using the grater plate for Garlic:  Moisten the plate with either water or olive oil. Hold the clove of garlic between your thumb and index finger with the root pointing up and the tip pointing down. Grate with just a little bit pressure on the garlic over the bottom of the dish. It makes no difference if you use circular movements or back and forth.  Once a paste forms you can add to recipes or simply add olive oil for dipping.  It works equally well with fresh Ginger!
