Artist Statement: The Marblehead Festival of Arts has always been a part of our family. From my earliest memories, my parents, sister, and I have spent the 4th of July holiday setting up art exhibits, photographing the street festival, or working the information booth. When asked if I would be interested in creating a cod to support the Marblehead Festival of Arts, I was thrilled to participate.
During the past few years I have been expanding my art to include hand printing papers as well as pen and ink drawings. When designing the cod "Baby in Blue", I allowed my imagination to develop the various blending of colors and textures printed with Gelli printmaking plates. Each textural paper was hand cut into the fish scales and embedded into an epoxy resin.
Artist Biography: Born and raised in Marblehead, Massachusetts, I have been an actively involved with the arts for as long as I can remember: spending every summer volunteering with my family at the Marblehead Festival of the Arts, attending performing and visual art camp and learning photography from my artist mom.
I was awarded the prestigious Gold Key in the 2014 Boston Globe Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for my senior visual art portfolio, as well as additional Gold and Silver Keys in drawing and painting. In 2014, I received an Outstanding Work award in the MFoA Drawing exhibit and an Outstanding Work award in writing.
I am a member of the National Art Honor Society and the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and in 2011 received the MFoA Milton Bloom Student Art Scholarship to attend the Berklee College of Music summer jazz vocal program. I am currently the Class of 2018 Sorenson Scholar for artistic excellence at Babson College which has allowed me to continue to pursue my passion in the arts while studying here at Babson. In addition to working on my visual art, I also perform with the Babson Rocket Pitches acapella group, am a member of the Chi Omega sorority and manager of the Varsity Swimming and Diving team.

Pick-up of purchased cods will be on Thursday evening, July 5. Winning bidder will receive a notification email with information on pick-up time and location.
If winning bidder requires shipping, winner's credit card will be charged a separate $24.95 fee to cover USPS ground and handling. Shipping is available within the U.S. only and must be requested within 7 days after receipt of the notification email.
Any cod purchased via "Buy Now" will remain on display at the hosting business through the end of the auction, and will be available for pick-up as detailed in the winning bidder notification email.
If winning bidder has not picked up cod (or provided shipping address) within 30 days after the close of the auction, cod will become the property of Marblehead Festival of Arts, Inc.
