Every year, our team at Stormhaven Studios gets together for an annual four-day weekend of rest and relaxation, and to return to the roots of the industry that spawned the MMORPG we are building: good old-fashioned tabletop gaming. For the 2017 meeting, we decided to go above and beyond simply playing pen and paper; instead, we went all-out and built a pair of wargaming boards to go along with our weekend campaign.
Tim & Joey spent around 50 hours handcrafting the boards from scratch. You can watch their 50 Hours in 5 Minutes speed run video detailing the crafting of the boards on YouTube here, or watch the entire playlist which includes 17 different tutorial videos on how it was all put together. The boards are meant to go together to create a long canyon, but can also be used independently and re-purposed to support a variety of different campaigns!
After our meeting last year, we decided we wanted to do something special for charity. A few months of research later, and we settled on working with Extra Life to auction off our boards! 100% of the proceeds go towards helping Dell Children?s Medical Center of Central Texas, and we're looking forward to raising as much money as we can during the 2018 Tabletop Appreciation Weekend!
The boards are way too big to realistically ship, so Tim & Joey will hand-deliver the boards to the winner anywhere in the continental 48 states.
