A Stirring Afternoon with Josh Mitchell and
Napa Valley Heritage Catering

--Enjoy a hands-on, interactive cooking class for 8 guests, focusing on Risotto and everything you need to know to make it and to enjoy doing so;

--then, sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labor, with generous amounts of fine wine.

Josh Mitchell and Napa Valley Heritage Catering is once again opening up his kitchen for a cooking class, just for you and the friends you most enjoy hanging with.

Join Josh in his Napa Valley Heritage Catering Kitchen in Calistoga and learn about Risotto.  Ahhhh, Risotto! Rice in what might be considered its most glorious form ? slowly simmered with stock, wine, butter and anything else you might fancy ? what?s not to like?  But many of us resist preparing it because we think it just takes too much time.  Josh will disabuse us of that silly notion, and show us how to prepare risotto in several ways.  Soon, you'll feel confident enough to break tradition and take your risotto somewhere it?s never gone before.

Then, you?ll sit down and eat!

There will be copious wine in the fridge to toast your prowess, and for you to thank your lucky stars that our local boy can cook, and we?re all the beneficiaries.

Josh Mitchell / Napa Valley Heritage Catering has really made a mark for himself in the upper valley -- Born and raised here in the Napa Valley, Josh began working in some of the most respected professional local kitchens including Auberge du Soleil, Bistro Jeanty, the CIA and Meadowood. He worked front of house, back of house and all the places in between. The Carneros Inn, AdHoc, SolBar and JoLe have all been graced by Josh Mitchell?s presence. He put on his apron here 18 years ago, and continues to call our valley home.

Josh now has his own commercial kitchen and catering company, dedicated to the Napa Valley aesthetic. He grows most of his own weekly produce, and raises rare breeds of heritage hogs to be used at his table. He makes his own charcuterie and cheese. He caters, does pop-up dinners, has a booming take-out business and does the cooking for many, many happy hostesses.

And ....he never forgets us at the UpValley Family Centers.
