Description

You will love CASA LUNA, located in the historic downtown area of Guanajuato, Mexico. Its location next to the Callejon del Beso immerses you in the nostalgia and romance of a city full of legends, impressive architecture and venue to some of Mexico?s best cultural events.

CASA LUNA offers more than an ideal location, it offers a retreat to embrace your five senses! The house is located on a quiet, off street location. As you enter the house, you will be welcomed by our colorful water fountain and garden in the front patio. Then as you explore you will enjoy original paintings from a well-known local Mexican artist! Each of the two bedrooms has it?s own balcony and bathroom with exquisite Mexican tiles. You can have your morning coffee on the back patio next to our traditional Mexican kitchen, plan your next BBQ on our 1st terrace, or simply have a glass of wine on our top terrace allowing you to embrace one of the best views of the city! The house is fully furnished with original and handmade built-in wooden furniture and cabinetry. You will find traditional fired-clay floors, high thread-count sheets, and countless details that we hope you will enjoy!

El Callejon del Beso, The Alley of the Kiss, has a superstition associated with the story of unfortunate young lovers. When two lovers pass through the Callejon del Beso, they must kiss on the third step to ensure seven years of happiness. That?s why hundreds of people who pass through this narrow place don?t hesitate to do so and hope that the story turns out to be true, making it without a doubt one of the most famous streets in Mexico.

The location of CASA LUNA allows you to enjoy what the city has to offer within walking distance! Guanajuato is a delightful Mexican silver mining town, with brightly painted buildings, extravagant religious buildings (The churches of La Compañía and La Valenciana are considered to be among the most beautiful examples of Baroque architecture in Central and South America.) Founded by the Spanish in the early 16th century, Guanajuato became the world's leading silver-extraction center in the 18th century. It is now recognized as a World Heritage Site.

The city is best known internationally for its acclaimed annual international arts festival, the Festival Cervantino. However, this colorful and lively place holds center stage all year long; much of the youthful vibrancy and prolific cultural activities ? callejoneadas, films, theater and orchestras ? can be attributed to the 20,000 students of the city's own University of Guanajuato.
