Description

Bid on this once in a lifetime opportunity to chat with Lesley Stahl as she takes you and a guest on a tour of 60 Minutes

"60 Minutes" correspondent Lesley Stahl's name is synonymous with high profile political reporting ? interviewing presidents and world leaders as well as traveling to nuclear disaster sites and war zones. Lesley knew she had what it took to be a reporter: "I think I knew by instinct that the door kicking part was necessary, the idea that you make a hundred calls instead of just fifty, and that you don't take no for an answer. I knew that my energy was going to be there, my urge to get to the bottom of a story would not flag."

When she began her career in television in 1972, she was assigned to cover a break-in at the Democratic Party headquarters in the Watergate building, a story that eventually led to the downfall of President Richard Nixon. Stahl was among a handful of female television journalists whose work led the way for the anchors and reporters on the air today. She was CBS? first female White House correspondent (a position she held during the Carter, Reagan, and Bush Sr. presidencies) and moderator of Face the Nation. Stahl has been a 60 Minutes correspondent for close to three decades bringing attention to important issues, from the recruitment of vulnerable young people as confidential police informants to the U.S. Guantanamo Bay prison facilities. Stahl?s interview of a former CIA Clandestine Services chief regarding ?enhanced interrogation techniques? on Al Qaeda operatives sparked a national debate.
