You and nine of your friends will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be hosted in the home of Bill Samuels, Jr., the Chairman Emeritus of Maker’s Mark Distillery.
Bill not only helped make his father’s “retirement hobby” bourbon into one of the most iconic and well-known brands in the world, he is also arguably the Commonwealth’s Most Interesting Man. Bill’s godfather and next-door-neighbor was Jim Beam, as a teenager he drove Harland Sanders around as the Colonel sold his revolutionary new fried chicken concept, he was a White House intern and actual rocket scientist for a time, and ultimately went to work for Maker’s Mark, where his dad’s only instruction to him was “don’t screw up the whisky.”
Today, Bill and his home are both treasure troves of history and hospitality. He’ll explain generations of his family’s historical items for you, and even show you the desk where it’s quite possible that Stephen Foster wrote “My Old Kentucky Home.”
You’ll be treated to cocktails, and perhaps best of all, you’ll get to taste Nancy Samuels’ amazing White Dog Corn Dip. Mint Julep Tours will provide transportation for you and your friends. This is an offering – and an experience – that is truly priceless.
