Description

This luxuriously soft Alpaca blanket is woven of rich tones of blue, teal, aqua, emerald and forest green. This sumptuous blanket combines beauty, incredible softness and warmth.  At 65" wide x 88" long, it covers a queen-sized bed.  It can be machine-washed in cold water and machine-dried without heat. The blanket is flame resistant, lighter and softer than wool, and hypoallergenic. Alpaca wicks moisture and has a silk-like shimmer. The soft blend of colors will go well with any decor.

Alpaca fiber is more environmentally friendly than sheep wool: sheep lanolin must be chemically processed out of wool; wider alpaca hooves leave the soil looser and able to maintain the grass, so alpaca graze in one area and don't trample down vast acreage, as sheep do.  Alpaca typically are shorn just once each year, yielding 2-4 kilograms, raising the cost relative to wool--the price for gentler treatment of the animals. 30% synthetic for durability.

This would be a perfect gift--if only you could let it go!
