Welcome and check in at Wine and Roses Inn (www.winerose.com) on Turner Road, Lodi. Just 45 minutes south of the Sacramento Airport. Drop your bags and hustle over to the winery for a meet and greet with the Twins and a chance to tour through the detail of a modern, sustainable working winery. A chance for a shower and then we?ll pick you up for dinner at the ranch ? we?d let you drive, however, the depth of wines that you?ll be drinking will not be conducive to driving.
SCHEDULE
6:30 p.m. BIG RED DINNER AT THE RANCH. Randy offers a no-holds barred opportunity to ransack his 3,000 bottle + wine cellar before dinner. Study up on wines before you come! He?s been hiding the good stuff in the cellar that should be dusted off and consumed. Dinner will be prepared by our local talent, Nick Kubitz, passionately known as Fatt Boy ? we took him to Aspen for the Food and Wine Show and he out cheffed the headliners. If we don?t have at least eight Bordeaux glasses hovering around your plate, it?s just not a good night.
Sometime before dawn you?ll make it home. Sadly, you?re on a three hour time change. Please sleep on the plane.

8 a.m. Up and at?em with breakfast burritos from La Campana in your room, brew your own coffee, and I?ll drag a bottle of our Aglianco Rose to pair.
9 a.m. Dash downtown to get a photo of your group under the Lodi Arch before traffic hits the four-way stop. The story is obviously Creedence Clearwater?s famous song, stuck in "Lodi?.
10 a.m. A car and driver picks you up at the hotel to start the day of enthusiastic wine tasting with the appellation?s famed ?Wine and Chocolate? weekend. Check out the Lodi Wine web page for past photographs and intel. 85 wineries all with open doors, entertainment, food and newly released wines. You?ll be part of the 5,000 people who venture to Lodi to celebrate this event. We?ll stow box lunches in your car and plenty of water, so no need to eat on the run.
7 p.m. Dinner back at the ranch ? just throwing something on the ?barbie and a chance to do some Facebook posts of the great time you?ve had.

This day is yours ? pack your bags and load the car to visit other neighbors en route to the airport.
We?ll be excited to meet everyone and show you a bit of our California winegrape industry. The connection to Chelsea? Goes deep ? Char was born and raised in Chelsea, crowned the youngest fair Queen in 1965 (yeah, there were a lot of mad seniors?) Jeff Daniels sang at our wedding and both Randy and I are passionate about supporting the Chelsea community and the arts. We look forward to meeting you in Lodi.
