Description

Chinese Handcarved Gem Tree, jade, mid to late 20th century, purchased at auction in New Orleans (along with four panel laquer screen also listed in this auction) and donated by a local family estate to the Bayou Teche Museum Silent Auction.

Vintage Chinese Gem Tree in Cloisonne Pot. It features semi precious carved stones, multicolor jade/hardstone plants with deep spinach jade leaves and flowers comprised of rose quartz cherry blossoms, white jade hardstone plum blossoms and agate and carnelian peony with dark spinach jade handcarved carved petals. The stems are wrapped in silk and the tree branches and trunks are very detailed. This tree is securely intact in the cloisonne pot that fits in the wooden base. Tree is approximately 23 inches tall (including the cloisonne pot); the cloisonne pot is approximately 6 inches wide, 4-1/2 tall. Excellent condition. Stones petals and leaves are perfect.
