Description

This auction item is for a stunning watercolor portrait of Leonard Bernstein & Jerome Robbins by artist Pat D'Amico.

This item cannot be shipped and must be picked up at our box office during box office hours.

Pat D'Amico is both a veteran of the marketing and advertising business and a watercolor portrait artist residing in southern New Hampshire. He has been painting children and adults for nearly 30 years and, from time to time, has been known to take on painting a home or treasured pet. But his heart lies in human portraiture. Perhaps that's because likeness, while difficult in any medium, is especially challenging in watercolor due to its fluidity and unpredictability. It’s a medium full of surprises.

“The delicate and translucent nature of watercolor breathes life into portraits like no other medium. Pat gets a warm look and strong likeness in his subjects that takes advantage of this classic painting method. ”  — Tom Monahan, artist
Pat's work hangs in homes from San Francisco to Palm Beach and throughout New England. "I find it very rewarding to know that my portraits will be handed down from generation to generation, long after I am gone," says Pat. Because of the longevity required of a portrait, he uses acid-free, 300 lb. museum-quality watercolor paper, high-quality Windsor Newton paints, and distilled water to paint. Pat works from photos and, if desired, will email progressive photos of the painting back to clients as he moves through the work.
