Description

A 16" Trout Sculpture - created tip to tail by Waterbury, Vermont artist Rachel Laundon. This piece is an original, it is carved from wood and painted with fine art acrylics in a the vivid autumnal colors and pattern characteristic of this gorgeous trout! The fins are copper that I hammered and oxidized for a nice patina that looks amazing against the painted wood. I reverse paint clear glass cabochons for the eyes and added a little bling behind it with re-purposed metal.

Born with a natural artistic talent, Rachel has been sculpting, painting and creating since she was a child. Her inspiration for the fish collection comes from fishing on the lakes and rivers of Vermont where she discovered that the form of a fish lends itself to an endless combinations of colors, patterns and textures.

Her innovative fish sculptures are just one of the many creations she has brought to life and is available for you on her website. Rachel's high quality, hand crafted fish art collection is the perfect way to enjoy the majesty of the great outdoors, when you're indoors. She personally finds the material, cuts the wood, molds the clay, paints the features, hammers the fins and everything else, every step of the way.
