Description

Live virtual performance for school grades kids K-3

David Harrell has performed his solo play ?The Boy Who Would Be Captain Hook? to thousands of students across the country. He has performed in schools, libraries, Off-Broadway theaters and world renowned Performing Arts Centers. Last year he received the ?Distinguished Honor Award? from the New Jersey Governor?s Awards for Arts in Education. This year, because of the threats of the COVID-19 virus, David has taken his live performance and made it a new virtual experience. Using a mixture of Live and Recorded video, David brings to life a story of his childhood. Born without his right hand and fitted with a prosthetic hook before he starts school, he is kept on the sidelines of recess until the game becomes Peter Pan. He fits perfectly into the game as Captain Hook but soon grows tired of playing the part and decides he wants to be a hero. What happens when you decide to not be defined by your circumstances and change the game?

David can perform his solo play for your school through a variety of digital platforms. Whether your school uses Zoom or Google Meet, David should have no problem bringing his story to your students. You can read more about David and his work at www.davidharrellonline.com
