Description

This case (12 bottles) of 2016 Chateau Lalande offers a vibrant red wine with a bright ruby color. Elegant notes of crushed red and black berry fruit, spices, and a hint of vanilla. Rich and round in the mouth with a touch of freshness. Soft well-integrated tannins and a long finish. Enjoy with steaks, pork roasts, lamb chops, barbecue and cheese. This wine is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot. 

Chateau Lalande is a small family owned estate in Saint Julien, owned by the Meffre brothers. Adjoining Chateau Gruaud Larose, Chateau Talbot and Chateau Lagrange, and facing Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou, it is one of the rare small, non-classified estates in the St Julien appellation that has not yet been snatched up by one of ite renowned neighbors. This estate comprises15.5 hectares of vineyards planted on gravel soils at a density of 8,000 vines/hectare. Average age of the vines is 30 years. Sustainable agricultural farmin. After manual harvest and sorting, grapes undergo a cold soak for 48 hours to extract color and aromas, and are fermented at 25 degrees Celsiusin traditional cement and stainless steel vats. Aged 12 months in French oak barrels, 35% new. Only 6,000 cases produced annually.
